Pavlo Tolstoy

He was born in Lviv (Ukraine). He graduated music studies in Roman Witoszyński’s class.

In 2002 he became a soloist at Lviv Opera. He performed there: Alfred in “The Revenge of the Bat” by Strauss, Beppo in “I Pagliacci”, Remendado in “Carmen” by Bizet, Alfredo in “Traviata” by Verdi, Leński in „Eugeniusz Oniegin” by Czajkowski, Stefan in „The Haunted Manor” by Moniuszko.

In 2005-2007 he was a soloist at Wrocław Opera, where he performed: Young King in „Hagith” by Szymanowski, Shepherd in “King Roger” by Szymanowski, Ferrando in „Cosi fan tutte” by Mozart, Tamino in „The Magic Flute” by Mozart and Rudolf in “La Boheme” by Puccini.

He is working with philharmonics in Lublin, Wrocław and Grand Theatre in Warsaw, Kraków Opera and Castle Opera in Szczecin.

Repertoire

In 2007-2017 he was a soloist at Opera Nova. He sang those parts:

  • Ismaele in „Nabucco” by Verdi
  • Pinkerton in „Madama Butterfly” by Puccini (dir. M. Bergloff, 2007)
  • Alfredo in „Traviata”
  • Nemorino in "The Elixir of Love" (dir. K. Nazar, 2009)
  • Isepo in "La Gioconda" (dir. K. Nazar, 2010)
  • Ottokar in "The Gypsy Baron" (dir. J. Niesobska, 2010)
  • Rudolf in "La Boheme" (dir. M. Prus, 2011)
  • The Forest Ranger in "Rusalka" (dir. K. Wuss, 2012)
  • Beppe (Arlecchino) in "I Pagliacci" (dir. A. Bubień, 2013)
  • Duke of Mantua in "Rigoletto" (dir. N. Babińska, 2014)

He also sang in our New Year’s Concerts.
