Tadeusz Szlenkier

He was born in Warsaw. In 2004 he graduated philosophy at Warsaw University. His vocal teachers was Roman Węgrzyn and Richard Cross. He took part in Jan Kiepura European Festival in Krynica (seven times!). He performed at many philharmonics with the best Polish directors and orchestras. In 2004 he was singing at Three Polish Tenors at Chicago Philharmonic and he was invited by Bogusław Kaczyński to perform in concert at Toronto Centre for the Arts. In 2005 he won International Vocal Competition Klassik-Mania in Vienna. In the same year he debuted at Kraków Opera as Alfred in “The Revenge of the Bat”. In 2006 he was on tour with Fribourg Philharmonic in Brazil. In the same year he debuted at Grand Theatre in Poznań as Gustav II in Verdi’s “A Masked Ball” premiere. At the end of 2006 he performed at Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz as Ismael in Verdi’s “Nabucco”.

In 2008 he was invited by Elżbieta Penderecka to perform in concerto version of Cherubini’s “Lodoiska” at XII Beethoven Easter Festival in Warsaw. Recording of this concerto was nominated for “Fryderyk” Music Award. In the same year he sang Shepherd part in “King Roger” by Szymanowski at Bard Summer Festival in Annandale on Hudson.

In 2009 he got Master of Music title at Yale University School of Music in USA. During the studies he was on tour with Yale Opera in Milan. In 2010 he performed at XVII Bydgoszcz Opera Festival, singing Enzo in Ponchielli’s “La Gioconda” premiere.

Since season 2010/2011 he is a soloist at Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz.
